Sylvia also produced the critically acclaimed feature romantic fable BLUE MOON, starring screen legends Ben Gazzara and Rita Moreno, directed by John Gallagher. She previously teamed with Gallagher on the popular cult comedy THE DELI, (Mike Starr, Gretchen Mol, Ice T, Jerry Stiller,Chris Noth, Michael Imperioli, Iman). Other producing credits include MIXING NIA (Karyn Parsons, Isaiah Washington, Eric Thal) and THE ANIMAL ROOM (Neil Patrick Harris, Amanda Peet, Matthew Lillard).

 

 

She recently branched out to feature length documentaries. Her first documentary, AN AFFAIR OF THE HEART, received top awards at its first four festivals (Nashville, Florida, Boston & Sidewalk) and opened theatrically to critical acclaim in 2012 before wide release on television, VOD and DVD. It chronicles the unique relationship between pop Icon Rick Springfield and his intensely devoted fans exploring the impact fan adoration has on several families. Her next doc was the multi-award winning, TANZANIA: A JOURNEY WITHIN, opened in theatres in April/May 2014 and will be released on VOD/DVD in July 2015. She recently had a command performance at the White House in Dar-Es_salaam for the President of Tanzania and leaders of the country.

For Discovery/Travel Channel she directed and produced three long running hit series (GREAT HOTELS, PASSPORT TO EUROPE and PASSPORT TO LATIN AMERICA). Among others she has also produced for TLC, WE, Lifetime & PBS.

 

Sylvia is developing several projects of “Hope” with her GRACE producing partner Cindy Joy Goggins and is slated to direct two narrative features in late 2015/206, THE EXCHANGE, a screenplay she penned with John Gallagher. and BLACKOUT GIRL an award winning memoir written by Jennifer Storm. Among others, she is attached to produce CHICKADEE starring Chris Cooper, Jacqueline Bisset and Julie Kavner based on a controversial 1920’s landmark case.
